Bird photography is my favorite photographic genre. I have been taking bird pictures ever since I started photography. Bird photography has been very informative for my other photography projects because it has required me to become very familiar with how my camera operates in various situations. This is especially true of autofocus. One of the most difficult parts of photographing birds is getting correct focus. Knowing the limitations and abilities of my camera’s autofocus has helped my approach to photographing birds.
Another difficult part of bird photography is trying to get close to the birds. Birds are naturally very active and don’t sit still for long. I have had the most success in my photos when I am able to accurately predict what a bird is going to do next. I can then position myself in the best spot to take the shot.
Getting a good photo of a bird has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me. Birds are fascinating creatures to watch, and I love taking photos of new ones when I go to nature preserves.
